INTRODUCTION  
 
The objective of the Fellowship is to provide integrated five year fellowships in the form of financial assistance to students from minority communities, as notified by the Central Government to pursue higher studies such as M. Phil and Ph.D. The Fellowship will cover all Universities/Institutions recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) and section 3 of the UGC Act along with those which are not under the purview of UGC and will be implemented by the Ministry of Minority Affairs through UGC for students belonging to the minority communities. The fellowship under Maulana Azad National Fellowship for minority students will be on the pattern of UGC Fellowships awarded to research students pursuing regular and full time M. Phil and Ph.D courses. The fellowship holders under this Fellowship will be known as Ministry of Minority Affairs scholars.

INTRODUCTION  
 
It is observed that number of girls as against boys in certain states is declining which is a matter of great concern. The females are even forced to give birth to male child. In such circumstances education of women needs to be used and effective means for their empowerment and education will prepare them to have a control over their lives. The mindset which militates against the girl child could not keep pace with economic progress and literacy. The Govt. of India declared elementary education as a basic human right of every child. The Union Government of India has taken various steps to uplift the status of women by implementing various schemes including free education for girls.

In order to achieve and promote girls education, UGC has introduced a Post Graduate Indira Gandhi Scholarship for Single Girl Child with an aim to compensate direct costs of girl education to all levels especially for such girls who happen to be the only girl child in their family

Fellowship Details:
  • Value of scholarship is Rs.3,100/- per month for a period of two years only (10 months in the year) i.e. full duration of a PG course.
  • no tuition fees will be charged by the institute from girl students to pursue PG degree course in Universities/Colleges/Institutions

Eligibility:
  • Any single girl child who happen to be a only child or twin daughter or fraternal daughter in the family, if one son and one daughter is available then girl child will not be considered for scholarship under the scheme.

Qualifications: MBBS with Postgraduate degree in Medicine from any recognised institute/ university. Or MBBS with Postgraduate Diploma in Medicine from any recognised institute/ university with 01 year post qualification Experience from a reputed Industrial/ Government/ Private Hospital. Applicants serving in Government/ Public Sector, Semi- Government Organizations are required to possess a minimum of One year of experience in the next below grade or its equivalent post.

Age Limit (As on 01/05/15): 45 years

Scale of Pay: Rs.20600 - 46500/-

Recruitment to the post of Asst. Executive Engineer (Civil) and Asst. Executive Engineer (Mechanical) in Group- ‘A’ of Odisha Engineering Service under Water Resources Dept.

Vacancy Position: As per requisition filed by the Water Resources Department of Government of Odisha the vacancy position is given below:

A. Assistant Executive Engineer (Civil)
I. Under H & U.D. Department: 134 Posts
II. Under W.R. Department (Major & Medium Irrigation wing): 291 Posts
III. Under Works Department:232 Posts


Qualification: A candidate must hold a Degree in Engineering in Civil/Mechanical or an equivalent qualification from any University or Institution recognized by the Government or he must be an Associated Member of the Institution of Engineers of India in Civil/Mechanical.

B. Assistant Executive Engineer (Mechanical): 25 Posts
Qualification: A candidate must hold a Degree in Engineering in Civil/Mechanical or an equivalent qualification from any University or Institution recognized by the Government or he must be an Associated Member of the Institution of Engineers of India in Civil/Mechanical.

Fee: A candidate is required to pay a non-refundable and nonadjustable fee of `300/-(Rupees three hundred) only. Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe of Odisha and Persons with disability (whose disability is not less than 40%) are exempted from payment of this fee.

Method of Selection: The selection of candidates for recruitment to the above posts shall be made on the basis of Objective Type Written Test and Viva Voce test. The weightage on objective type written test shall be 90% (ninety per cent) and weight-age on viva test shall be 10% (ten per cent). The Commission will prepare a common merit lists in respect of Assistant Executive Engineer (Civil) and Assistant Executive Engineer (Mechanical) for allotment to different departments as per their preference and ranking given in their online application/hard copy.
