Click Here for Bank Employees Expected Salaries after 10% Increase Offer

Bank employees salary revision is due from 01.11.2012. Earlier i have posted Base Date for Merger of DA with Existing Basic Pay of Bank Employees in 10th Bipartite Settlement. Here i am going to post the expected salary of bank probationary Officer & Clerk After Pay Revision November 2012.

Note: This revision is applicable to RRB's and private sector bank also. But the allowances are different for different banks. This a reply some of the doubts expressed in comments section.

Bank Probationary Officer Salary After Revision in 2013:

At present a newly joined Bank PO's Basic Pay is Rs.14,500. After merging the 60.15% DA as on 01.11.2011 to Basic Pay, it will be Rs.23,221/- We are expecting minimum 20% increment to this basic pay, but we can expect 25% increment to this basic pay.

If IBA agree for 20% increment, Final Basic Pay will be Rs.27,866. From August 2013, DA is 88.95%. After merging 60.15 with basic, remaining 28.80% DA will be there. We can expect minimum 10% HRA after revision. So, you get total 38.80% of DA & HRA on Basic Pay. So, total Gross Salary of Bank fresher Probationary Officer (PO) from August 2013 will be Rs.38,678/- (Worst Possible Scenario)

If IBA agree for 25% increment, Final Basic Pay will be Rs.29,026. Total 38.80% of DA & HRA on Basic Pay. So, total Gross Salary of Bank fresher Probationary Officer (PO) from August 2013 will be Rs.40,288/- (Somewhat Good)

If IBA agree for 30% increment, Final Basic Pay will be Rs.30,187. Total 38.80% of DA & HRA on Basic Pay. So, total Gross Salary of Bank fresher Probationary Officer (PO) from August 2013 will be Rs.41,899/- (Good Settlement)

We can expect Worst possible scenario in reality. So, Salary of Bank PO from August 2013 will be Rs.38,678/-

Bank Clerk Salary After Revision in 2013:

At present a newly joined Bank Clerk's Basic Pay is Rs.8,000. After merging the 60.15% DA as on 01.11.2011 to Basic Pay, it will be Rs.12,812/- We are expecting minimum 20% increment to this basic pay. At most we get 25% increment.

If IBA agree for 20% increment, Final Basic Pay will be Rs.15,374. From August 2013, DA is 88.95%. After merging 60.15 with basic, remaining 28.80% DA will be there. We can expect minimum 10% HRA after revision. So, you get total 38.80% of DA & HRA on Basic Pay. So, total Gross Salary of Bank fresher Clerk from August 2013 will be Rs.21,339/- (Worst Possible Scenario)

If IBA agree for 25% increment, Final Basic Pay will be Rs.16,015. Total 38.80% of DA & HRA on Basic Pay. So, total Gross Salary of Bank fresher Clerk from August 2013 will be Rs.22,228/- (Somewhat Good)

If IBA agree for 30% increment, Final Basic Pay will be Rs.16,655. Total 38.80% of DA & HRA on Basic Pay. So, total Gross Salary of Bank fresher Clerk from August 2013 will be Rs.23,117/- (Good Settlement)

We can expect Worst possible scenario in reality. So, Salary of Bank Clerk from August 2013 will be Rs.21,339/-

So, Bank PO Salary after revision 2013 will be anywhere between Rs.38,678 to Rs.41,899 &
Bank Clerk Salary after revision 2013 will be anywhere between Rs.21,339 to Rs.23,117

All The Best & Good Luck! to all our bank employees. Jai Hind...

  10. Bank unions want ‘adequate increase’ in salary in 10th bipartite wage settlement

?Bank unions want ‘adequate increase in salary’ as part of their demands to the management of all banks, represented by the Indian Banks Association (IBA). The 10th bipartite talks between bank unions and IBA are on currently to decide the quantum of wage increase for bank employees for the period covering November 2012 to October 2017. Each settlement is valid for a period of five years. The earlier settlement expired in October 2012.

    ‘Adequate increase’

C.H. Venkatachalam, General Secretary, All India Bank Employees Association, while laying out the case for an ‘adequate increase’, refused to quantify it. He said that employees should be paid more in view of the alarming price increase, increased job profile, wages in comparable sectors and the profitability of banks.

The 8th wage talks covering the period 2002-07 provided bank employees a 13.25 per cent increase in wages on the average while the 9th wage talks (covering 2007-12) gave them a 17.5 per cent increase on the average.

Venkatachalam said that the priority for unions in this settlement was to improve the dearness allowance (given to compensate inflation). He said that unions wanted DA to be credited on a monthly basis rather than on a quarterly basis as was the case now. He also said that unions wanted housing for all employees, improved transport, medical allowances and better post-retirement benefits such as family pension/ gratuity.

    Wage talks

Responding to the criticism that wage talks tended to meander for a long while, Venkatachalam said that unions were in favour of conducting them in a time-bound, expedited way. IBA had also agreed with this view and he hoped that negotiations would be over within six months.

When asked if unions were agreeable to the proposal of variable pay linked to productivity, Venkatachalam said that they were open to proposals that offer incentives for performance or motivate employees. However, he clarified, that these could not be in lieu of the increase in basic emoluments that they were demanding. He also debunked the ‘cost-to-company’ concept that was floated by the IBA during the talks held last week.

He said that the concept wouldn’t work and the industry was not ripe enough for it. Elaborating he said that cost of establishment was not decided at the industry level but at the level of individual banks and their negotiations couldn’t cover this aspect.

  33. Dear Admin, A small correction - After merging D.A., THE REMAINING D.A. IS 19.2% AND NOT 28.80% - BECAUSE AFTER MERGER OF D.A. at 401 slabs, only 192 slabs are left as at August 2013. So %age of D.A. as at August 2013 is 192 X 0.1 = 19.2%

  41. Hi Admin ,
Thanks for the information. But I have little doubt on your calculation. It looks you made big mistake explaining the revised salary amount.

Current Basic Pay = 14500 ; If you say its a 20 % hike on the basic this will make it "17400" as new basic pay and in your calculation you shown it as "27866". DA and other part comes after . But this thing are little confusing and looks not correct as per the facts stated by you.

    Please help clarify the doubts.

    Regards,
    New Banking Aspirant

    ReplyDelete
  42. at present your basic pay is Rs.9,900
after 60.15% merging, yr basic is Rs.15,855
we can expect 20% increment then it is 19,025
and DA will be 23.04% and hra may be 10%
so you may get gross as Rs.25,310

  45. DA merger + %age increase will add up to make final basic pay and other salary components i.e. DA(remaining 10.9%) HRA & CCA will be calculated on that final basic. DA is merged to calc new basic pay in the begining itself along with 20%(min.) increase by IBA.

UNDERSTANDING D.A. MERGER AND WAGE REVISION PROCESS
    ************************************************
In the meeting 12.08.2013 it is decided to merge 4440 points of CPI with Basic pay.
    What does it mean?
As on 01.11.2011 CPI was 4440 for D.A calculation i.e 401 slabs, 60.15%(@0.15% per slab)
    As on 01.11.2012 CPI was 4876 for D.A calculation i.e 510 slabs, 76.50% (@0.15% per slab)
Now after merging 4440 points D.A. for balance 436 points i.e 109 slab will remain.
This 109 slab will not be calculated @ 0.15% as it will lead to giving D.A on D.A +basic.
    Hence it will be reduced.
    To what extent?
In 8 th bi-partite settlement D.A. merger was at 2288 points. % per slab was 0.18%
In 9th bi-partite settlement D.A. merger was at 2836 points. % per slab was 0.15%
    How 0.18 became 0.15?
    It is simple maths. (2288/2836)*0.18=0.145=0.15%
Likewise this time it will be (2836/4440)*0.15=0.0958=0.10%
This rate is not announced officially, but this is the method of calculation.
If higher % is announced I will be happy.
What is the effect of merging D.A with Basic Pay?
    Example:
    On 01.11.2012 Basic Pay =8000. D.A. (old)=6120 (@76.50%)
    Total=14120
    On 01.11.2012 Basic Pay=12812. (160.15% of 8000).D.A. (New)=1396.50(109*0.10%)
    Total=14208
Now, Basic pay of 8000 becomes 12812.
IBA has not revealed the % of wage increase yet.
Any % announced will be calculated on 12812 and not on 8000.
This is the effect of D.A.merger.
All our benefits like HRA, CCA, PF CONTRIBUTION, PENSION, COMMPUTATION,LOAN ELIGIBILITY etc.,are calculated on the basis of basic pay only. Hence we have to increase Basic pay substantially.
Therefore this merger point is a good one.
    ***************************************
Effective date from 01.11.2012 and its importance:
In previous settlements effective date was postponed by an year or so and different heads like B.P, D.A.,Spl.Allow, etc., was given effect on different dates therby loosing the arrears substantially.
This time it is achieved from the day one.

  55. It s strange that people discuss and arrive at conclusions for existing employees only. Probably they
should also think that they will also become pensioners in future and their interest also to be
discussed and deliiberated for better future.

Hence i strongly feel that the negotiating leaders must take cognizance of pensioners and their
plight for updation of pension in this settlement and ensure that it is obtained without postponing
the issue for some other petty issues.

In Worst Case, If 10% increase is there ,then how much we can expect as the in-hand salary for a PO?

    ReplyDelete
  76. As of now IBA has accepted to pay only 10%, but u have calculated for 25% and mark that as worst case but now we are facing even worst situation. In order to get 25% hike in salary hope we have go for strike for couple of more days..

  79. Respected all Leaders, I appreciate the wage revision. Thanks for hard work. But the difference between the wage of an officer and clerk is too high.

  80. I am very upset about the difference of basic of PO&CLERK. Basic of clerk should be more instead in present. It should be80-90% of PO basic. Thanks.....

  81. GRADUATION& CAIIB ALLOWANCE AFTER STAGNATION SHOULD BE FIXED ON INITIAL INCREMENT.
AFTER CBS BANKING WORKING HOURS ALREADY HAVE BEEN INCREASED SO FIVE DAY WEEK SHOULD BE IMPLEMENTED WITHOUT INCREASING WORKING HOURS.NO STAGNATION, INCREMENT SHOULD BE RELEASED IN EVERY YEAR .SETTLEMENT SHOULD BE MINIMUM 20% INCREASE.OTHER FACILITIES LIKE
CENTRAL GOVT EMP SHOULD BE DEMANDED
