2014 IBPS Specialist Officer (SO) 3 Officer Scale-I Exam (Afternoon Session) Paper Review | Experience of IBPS SO III IT Scale I officer Exam Held on 9th February 2014 | Detailed Sectional Wise Review of 2014 IBPS IT Scale-1 Officer 9-2-2014 (Afternoon Shift) Examination
Hi Friends, I am Jisha. I attended the afternoon section of IBPS SO III exam, for IT Officer Scale-I, on 9th February 2014, at Ernakulam. I am person with more accuracy and less speed, especially in quantitative aptitude. I wrote it with accuracy in mind. My plan was to attend English for 25 minutes, Quantitative Aptitude for next 40 minutes, Reasoning for next 30 minutes and rest 25 minutes for professional knowledge.
I started with English, the passage given was a bit tough..but there i spend a bit more time...there were questions to find the central theme of passage..i somehow completed English with 30 minutes.
Then i moved to quantitative aptitude.....which was very tough for me..(and later i found many people saying the same)..so overall maths was tough.I got confused in one DI question..but i couldn't even have a look on the question paper..i was just skipping the very tough ones..and doing tough ones..:D.....i am very slow in this section..and i found i have done some careless mistakes.I just went back to those questions and corrected my ans. This took more time.I stopped it after 40 minutes and moved to reasoning.
Reasoning was easy-moderate....i skipped some questions in between,as there is sectional cut off..and i wanted to go back to maths again. It was good..not very much complex questions.
Now i have 20 minutes in hand....and prof. knowledge section...I started doing it fast..and i skipped all questions which confused me....it was overall easy..and where i got confused was like...3 options are definitely wrong..and rest 2 are doubtful...and out of these, there were 5 questions which i cudn't even make a guess.I finished this with 16 minutes.
Again,i went back to quantitative aptitude....i tried to solve some more questions...and soon i got that time over message with my no. of attempts.I cannot say the overall distribution as i didn't view the paper full.
My attempts are
Reasoning-28
English-30
Maths-14
Professional Knowledge-32
On an average,i found people with 30-35 attempts in reasoning,25-30 in english,20 in maths, and 35+ in professional knowledge. If cut off comes down,i hope i will clear it..:)..All the best to all !!
when will the result of IBPS so III be published?
ReplyDeleteHow many vacancies in kerala?
ReplyDeleteHi frieds,
ReplyDeleteI too faced the same problem while solving quantitative aptitude. I can do only 14 question from it(to be very frank). And i dont think that i will clear this section cut off.
First i did Professional aptitude for 40 mins, the questions were easy though confusing.
Then i did English for 20 mins, it was also easy.
After that i was left with 60 mins. I can bet, you cannot do both reasoning and quanta in that much time.
As the time passed, I managed to only 24 reasoning ques and 14 quantitative question.
Lets hope for the best............ :) :)

Shailendra was exactly correct...I attempted Quants-19, Reasoning-23, English-32, Professional Knowledge-46...!!!
ReplyDeleteQuants was very very lengthy and Reasoning was also time taking one.....So one who attempt Reasoning would miss quants and one who concentrate on quants would miss reasoning...!!!!
Hope the cut off will be less like the PO exam....!! Plz share ur experiences for the SO-IT-1
All the best for all of u guys for the SBI SO.
as this time paper was tough in reasoning and aptitude so cutoff may be less....depends on ur accuracy...if u have maintained the accuracy definately u will be IN...so be cool and prepare well for the exam friend....all the best for the SBI-SO

Is there any chance.
Hello friends,
ReplyDeleteI just studied for this exam only 10days, but i think one easily crack it with some discipline and lots of practice.
I planned sections as with preferences:
English: 25min; attempt=39
Professional Knowledge : 30min; attempt 42
Reasoning: 25min: attempt=35
Quant: 40min; attempt=32
Initially english section looked tough but later questions were managable.
Professional knowledge section wasnt that tough.
Reasoning seemed difficult for me it needs lots of practice to read, understand and solve within time.
Quant was lengthy. Lot of practice needed in quant and one should be very quick in calculations & good in numbers.
One should have good practice of solving lengthy calculations and also good reading & understanding skill.
Hoping for best:)

what are my chances ?????
Hello ALL!!
ReplyDeleteMy name is vinit.
I fight IBPS so on 9th feb . my strategy was as always i started the paper with reasoning then maths then professional knowledge(PK) and english at last.
At first reasoning was OK i took 30 minutes to do queries in this. the paper was ok but somehow in the part of machine input output and puzzle it is tough. so i don't wana spend more time on this along with this there were two course of action problems i skip those also so finally i did about 36 questions in this part.
now i move towards maths , this time maths contain a long tough calculative paper. in the part of DI we have 15 questions a pie chart and data based. so these are very tough and don't have so much time to do this. along with this several other questions are also their paper is not too much difficult but the problem was we have a little time to do this. so finally i reached only 25 question in this.
now i move towards english it was very tough the passage was just a bouncer. i attempt 25 q in this.
and finally the computer part it was good and somehow i attempt 45-46 Q in this part so allover i attempt 119 questions in this.
lets hope the cutt off will not so high. just pray to good
all the best to others
don't worry this happened with most aspirants. I could arrange to do only 19 questions in Quant. & 23 in reasoning bcoz i kept leaving those which i thought were time taking. However english & proffessional knowledge were done in first 50 minutes only & i attempted 43 & 40 respectively in those as P.K. has a higher weightage for TWSS. On the whole i would say that TWSS would be very low in comparison to last year(may be between 100 to 115), as the sectional cutoff for reasoning & quant. both will go down (may be between 15 to 20), but P.K. & english will be about same cutoff as last year which was 24 .Remember that this is the cutoff for general which i am talking about. :)
ReplyDeletehi,i m mansi.I attended morning session on 9th feb 2014 of ibps so exam,i started with English languageand I solved 49 question in 40 mintues.actually I m too weak in this section and my accuracy is so less, therefore I attended more in this section.
ReplyDeletethen after ,moved to reasoning paper and solved 31 question in 30 min.
now,i hav only50 min.so, I given 25 min in quantative and also 25 min for professional language.i solved only 14 question in math, because I m good in math nd accuracy is high.
also I m good in computer so, I given only 24 min for 39 professional language.
thanku...

Hello friends,
ReplyDeleteI have given IT officer exam on 9th Feb. Math is not to much tough but it's an Logical. reasoning is quite moderate. Professional is very easy. and English is an average. I have attend 117 question with 70 to 80 % accuracy.
Next week Result will be display
ReplyDeleteHi friendz,

quant- 23 (80% accu.)
reasoning - 30 (90% accu.)
Eng- 48 (80% accu)

yes definitely you will clear exm
ReplyDeleteHi friends, last year i got short of 1 mark in quant. So this year, I had decided to attempt atleast 27-28 questn of every part first and then attempt more if time remains. Not giving any excuse, but due to awkward seatng arrangmnt, small space to rest arms and solve queries, untangled wires, along with a little over the top reasoning level i cud attempt 25 in reasng, 25 in quant, 30 in eng, 32 in IT. And i literaly feel their clock runs faster. :p anyways, with 90% accuracy in Reasng and more in other parts, i am sure i will make it to the section wise cleared candidate list. But not sure abt the overal cut off. What do you thnk will b the ovral cut off this year. I belong to general category.
ReplyDeleteHey please tell me what cut off so scale1 .I am attemp
