2014 RBI Grade B Officers Exam (Phase I) Syllabus

General Awareness : You will get 80 questions from this section. So this will be the fate changer. If you observe old papers, you will get almost 60 questions from Economy. Aprox 14 questions from current affairs  and remaining 6 are from standard gk. You can expect maximum number of questions from RBI Policies, Union and Railway Budgets 2014-15, Economic survey 2013-14, Taxes, various plans and schemes launched by the government of India, Indian economy basics, economy and banking terminology, committees and heads, agreements and MOUs between nations, major financial organizations and their recent activities etc. Keep in mind that you are preparing for the job in India's central banking institution. Prepare accordingly.

English Language : This will be the easiest section of this exam. You will get 30 questions from this section. If you have good command over the English grammar. You should work with your vocabulary, antonyms and synonyms. You can expect questions from fill in the blanks, sentence arrangement, sentence correction, phrases, substitution of words (5 marks for each topic). If you are not good at English, then its better to start your preparation with any English grammar book of your local language.

Quantitative Aptitude : For this section, you will get 10 questions from arithmetic (basic maths simplifications), 10 to 15 questions from regular competitive maths (Time and work, Averages, Speed and Distance, Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Geometry,  Algebra, Trigonometry, Mensuration etc) and 5 to 10 questions from Data Analysis and Interpretation.

Reasoning : This section will be of 60 marks and you can expect questions from syllogisms, input-output, statements and assumptions, cause and effect, relations, directions, arguments, inference, seating arrangements, inequalities, coding and decoding etc. As this is going to be online exam, they may not ask questions from non-verbal reasoning. But it's better to have a quick view on this section too.
