IBPS PO 2013: Is It Possible to Change Eligibility Criteria Now?

IBPS released the Probationary Officers (PO) 2013 recruitment notification earlier. There is lot dissatisfaction over the changed eligibility criteria. Iam also feeling very sad for you guys. Even though it was a expected move, i cant digest this. How they can decide one's talent just with graduation %. PSU Banks are taking very bold decision without taking care of unemployed youth..

Now, Is possible to change eligibility criteria now?

Banks don't even think of it. They have taken this decision after discussing the matter for one year. Because of huge competition to bank jobs, they want to filter candidates and absorb best candidates in this way. We cant blame IBPS for this change. They just follow the instructions of Govt of India & PSU Banks.

Some people are saying that, they are going file a PIL in high court or some thing. But these things never work. Banks issue new criteria after looking at legality of change. This decision was not taken in a single day. It was implemented after 1 and half year. So, Dont expect any change. So, don't waste your time with those kind of things. Forget about IBPS PO 2013, if you are General candidate with less than 60% score in graduation.

You have only 2 opportunities in your hand now. 1. RRB PO & Clerk 2. IBPS Clerk

If you want to work as PO only, prepare for RRB PO. As a RRB PO, you will have chance to work nearer to or in your own town. It is never possible in PSU Banks. Salary is same for all. Only allowances differs. RRB PO's wont get petrol & lease rent accommodation allowance. All others are same for All. After working as PO for 2 years, you are eligible to write Scale 2 direct recruitment exams.

If you want work only PSU banks, you can write IBPS clerk exam, for which we can expect notification in few months. There is no % criteria for clerks. If you join as a clerk in any PSU, you will get promotion within 3 to 4 years. IF you pass JAIIB & CAIIB exams, you will definitely get promotion in 3 years at present.

So, Be Positive & Move Forward with the Opportunities you have... Share your views on this post in comments section.

  2. @admin:: people are raising objection because ibps did not declare new criteria in advance.they should have put new rules on their website in october 12. aspirants were unaware of new rules and they preparing keeping old eligibility in mind. how can ibps be so irresponsible? now many would say that banking sites discussed it in october 12.but let me ask them how many aspirants are active net users?ibps is totally responsible for this mess. when all gradutes were eligible attrition was 30% , now it will be over 50% because any one with 60% in graduation will get more opportunity. the banks are putting criteria like navratna companies(which they are not). all similar posts or even superior to bank po have no criteria
    1.ias
    2.pcs
    3.lic gic
    4.ssc cgl
    5 mha recently released ad

in rbi 60% can be justified as seats are too less.similar logic can be aplied to fci mgmt trainee
ibps has denied chance to lakhs of graduates

why criteria should be there for 20000 posts when unemployment is at such a high level?

  3. Yes admin you r true that we should try 4 other alternate career in banking industry......also with that we should atleast stand 4 our rights.

  5. Reducing age limit will effect on many unemployed people ,28 yrs is not enough for RRB PO
    I think its very bad

  12. no u can not apply. banks want graduates as clerk!!!! . ibps & banks have made a mockery of our education system. they think that graduates are required to do job of bank clerk. though intermediate can be considered sufficient for bank clerk, but ibps & banks do not think so.

  28. Dear admin

I am awaiting my engineering final year results and appeared my final exam on may 2013. But as we all know IBPS PO have limited the eligibility criteria till 01/07/2013 but still our results are not declared which were supposed to be declared early. Can we apply for PO irrespective of the fact that our results aren't yet declared ? Not only in IBPS many bank exams also they have some criteria like this. will our candidature be cancelled ?
    please help me out.
