1. Reasoning: You have to be very careful while solving the questions. If you make a mistake in solving the problem, you will mark all wrong answers to the questions below that problem. The most important questions from this section are, Seating Arrangements, Ranking, Syllogism, input - output, Data Sufficiency, Coding - Decoding, Cause and Effect, Statement and Conclusions, Assumptions. These topics cover almost 30 marks out of 50. So, practice these questions more. They ask 5 questions from each of these topics. Some more important topics are, Blood Relations, Directions, Analogy, Classification, Series problems are some more important topics you have to cover. Nonverbal reasoning is the toughest of all. But it was there in online exams. I am not sure whether they will ask non-verbal questions in PO exam or not. They didn't ask them in clerk and some other online exams. Be prepared for that too. Otherwise you have to lose 10 marks.
2. Quantitative Aptitude: Quantitative Aptitude section is most toughest section for many after General English. But if you practice more and more, you can minimise the time to solve the problems. If you keep on practicing the papers, you can find some shortcuts by yourself. Some candidates can solve the problems if you give time but they lack speed. Speed is very important for quantitative aptitude section. Practice is the only mantra for success.
Before practicing the papers, you need to be good at tables, Summation, Difference, Multiplications, Division, Square roots, Square of a number. you should not spend much time for these operations. Your speed completely depends on how faster you can do these operation. There shortcuts for these operations. So, know them first. In quantitative aptitude section, you have to face the following topics. Basic calculations and simplifications, Series problems, Ratio & Proportion, Percentage, Partnership, Profit & Loss, Simple Interest, Compound Interest, Average, Time & Work, Time & Distance, Work & Wages, Trains, Boats & Streams, Probability, Data Sufficiency, Data Interpretation, Mensuration, Bodmas Rule, Permutations & Combinations. These are the topics that you have to cover. All topics are important.
3. English Language: This is the section where many candidates not able to score minimum cutoff marks. But they wont concentrate on it. In this section, vocabulary, Comprehension, Correction of sentences, Jumbled words, Fill in the blanks, Phrase-Meanings, Antonyms, Synonyms, Arrange sentence. To answer these questions, you need to be good at grammar. Learn tenses, Parts of speech, Prepositions, Articles, etc.. Daily read English news paper. Write down some words, which you feel difficult and know the meanings and opposite words. so that you can improve your vocabulary. If you keep reading the papers, you will be able to identify errors in sentences without even thinking about the grammar. So that you can read faster than before.
4. General Awareness: Questions are mainly based on banking knowledge. Know about financial institutions and their background. There will be 15 to 20 Current affairs questions out of 40. Read all the general awareness questions posted on our website. Don't look at title of the post. Read all the general awareness and banking awareness questions posted on our site. Apart from these, know the important days, important persons, Award winners, Books and authors, Head of the major institutions, Abbreviations, Ministers and their port folios, Games and Cups. Write a notes on all these topics.
5. Computer knowledge: IBPS PO computer knowledge questions level is different from other bank exams. You need to know the basics of each topics. Topics: Computers History, Computers-Generations, Internet, Computer hardware, E-mails, Software's, Abbreviations for computer terms, OS, Languages, Databases, Networking.

ReplyDeleteSir,
ReplyDeleteI think its your speculation with respect to no of questions from the marks mentioned in the notification. I hope there will be equal number of questions in all sections. Most probably it will be 40 in each section. English and General Awareness may carry 1 mark each, Computer section may have 0.5 marks and QA and reasoning may have 1.25 marks each. In last year it was visible that importance of QA and Aptitude was given importance in the later RRB exam, so the same may be followed here. I am sure at any cost they will not give 50 questions in QA and Reasoning as the total time is 2 hours only. However there is confusion with respect to negative marks as mentioned in the notification. It was mentioned one-fourth or 0.25 marks. 0.25 marks will be applicable only in case where 1 mark is allotted to each, in that case the website should be right in what it has mentioned. Hopefully we can expect another corrigendum.

Dear Admin,
ReplyDeleteI would like to know how much questions one should attempt in each section to cross both the sectional and overall cutoffs considering the accuracy of attempts to be about 85-90%.(Like last time cutoff was 135,but that doesnot means that someone need to attempt 150-160 questions with 85-90% accuracy.)Please reply because this will be a great help in time management and setting the target .Also if you can tell the no of question required to be attempted for getting marks around 155-160.
