Here is the latest news on Common Interview for IBPS PO 2012 exam held on 17th June 2012. Dr. A. K. Konar [Division Head: Client Relations (Public Sector Banks), IBPS] revealed that they are going to conduct common interview for IBPS PO 2 2012 passed candidates. Here is the news published by The Telegraph.
Konar says that public sector banks recruit on an average 20,000 officers and 19,000 clerks every year. Reflecting the demand, the IBPS conducts three exams, one for clerical staff, probationary staff and specialists and two for regional rural banks in the clerk and officers category every year.
He also explained the process of Common Interview for IBPS PO 2012.
In June 2012, in their common written exam for probationary and management trainees, out of 7 lakh candidates, 61,339 qualified and will be placed after a common interview. Candidates can give their first, second, third choice of banks and this will be taken into account along with their marks while placing them. “For example, if vacancies in their first choice are filled they will be placed in their second choice. This is to avoid candidates flocking only to the top rated banks,“ he points out.
Raj Kiran Rai, general manager, HRD, Central Bank revealed the vacancies in PSU banks next year.
Roughly 30,000 vacancies are going to emerge next year across the banking industry, he reveals. Central Bank itself requires 2,000 officers next year because it will be opening “ultra small branches“ around the country. “We will take 1,000 internally through promotions and another 1,000 from the IBPS,“ he says.

only 3 choices to be given in interview..., that really wrong step admin... many people loss their option of getting job in other banks.. all qualifiers just go through top banks and there will be a competetion for those banks only, so what about the remaining banks and how the candidate know vacancies in banks... this is all wrong admin in my view... if ibps releases the vacancies and there will be choices upto 20 then it is useful otherwise it,s all fraud....
ReplyDeletefriends from next year ibps has gone for certain changes...1. graduation marks has been increased to 60% and 2. age reduced to 28 from 30...friends i think there should protest against this as 2 years is lot for banking aspirants like us....i have already sent my grievnaces in http://pgportal.gov.in/Grievance.aspx with Registration number DEABD/E/2012/02285..please guys send ur grievance and stop ibps from implementing this rule only ur protests an stop ibps from implementing this rule
ReplyDeletei don't think they only allow 3 choices. he was taken 3 choices as an example to explain. u can give all 20 banks in order of preference.

ReplyDeletethere is no guaranty of getting final selection even if u clear the interview. u should be in merit list for final selection. after final selection ur score is imp to get posting at desired place. if u r on top, banks will consider ur preferred location for posting. i also heard that in some rural banks, promotions are given in initial days based on the marks u secured in entrance exam. but nationalised banks wont follow this rule.

yeah..u have chances if u perform well in interview. ur expected rank will be around 11k. there will be 10k posts for gen. so if u can improve ur rank to 8 or 9k interview, u will definitely get placed.
ReplyDeletemy sincere advice is 1st u prepare for ibps clerk exam 2012 which is going to be held in december. later u can prepare for po interview. there is lot of time to prepare after this exam. interview will be in jan or feb 2013. 1 month is lot of time to prepare for interview. why iam saying all this is u have no chance this time for po with 138 marks. sorry for spoiling ur attitude. i have to tell the truth.

ReplyDeletesorry for late reply.. i am answering to clerk notification thread as there lot of problems with application process..ok.. 141 is not that gud for obc. u will get interview if common interview comes into play. ur overall rank would be around 35k. vacancies for obc will be around 5k and combining with gen vacancies, u r eligible for 15k vacancies. so ur rank 35k and 15k vacancies. decide urself whether u have any chance or not. interview is expected to be held in jan or feb 2013.
