2014 IBPS IT Officers Scale I Exam (Morning Session) Paper Review

Hi friends, I am Karthika. I've attended today's (9th February 2014) IBPS IT Officers (Scale I) Online Exam from Pondicherry. According to me, the paper was Ok. Not so easy and not so difficult. I could attempt 119 questions with 90% accuracy.

Here is my sectional wise review of IBPS IT Officers exam.

Professional Knowledge
A bit difficult section when compared to remaining sections. Most of the questions are about viruses and its types and its process around 5 ques, and the question regarding the web access .... others are normal I expected more questions Data Base Management Systems and Software Engineering but less questions from those areas. That's all for now friends. I wish you all the good results ....

  1. Hi friends,

I agree with karthika , the paper was not too difficult. The calculation part in the Quant senction was but lengthy. and most of the questions were linked. the main difficulty I faced was that I had to scroll all the time to see complete data in DI question as the table was not complete fit in the left frame of the screen. This was time consuming.

The professional knowledge was not so difficult. Except virus part rest was easy.

Lets hope for the good results.

    Best of luck....

  2. Hi,

I had SO IT-1 paper morning session today. I got a similar paper but was able to attempt a bit more than you. Quant was very tough for me - doable but very lenghty calculations. Rest of the paper was as you mentioned above. Attempt - 153. Not confident about PK though.

  3. yes..paper was really very nice.but time consuming. Pk section is difficult but if you realyy worked on db warehousing, s/w life cycles, data mining & very few from web technologies, bdms topics you can easily crack these question.

Reasoning was the easiest of all the sections
In Aptitude Section the Data Interpretation part was too prominent
2 Tabular Columns, One Pie chart and one Bar Graphs were given
all the usual Quant topics are covered .

I felt professional knowledge was difficult. Max number of questions were concentrated on software development and very little on hardware related ones.
Few questions that i can recollect from the Professional Knowledge section are,
    Question on semantic web technologies
    Software development models
What issues to be dealt during maintainance
Rdf , xml, html topics questions
    Question on open source software
What factors should we consider while developing a code
    Data transmission
    Cloud computing
    Rdbms : 3 questions

In English there are 50 questions for 25 marks. I did not attempt the paragraph as I felt it was not worth 10 mins of time.. It was lengthy. Apart from parajumbles they gave 5 stmnts (conveys one particular topic) per question and asked to identify which of the given stmnts conveys the central theme of the whole passage. I dont remember attempting this type of question in earlier exams. correction of sentences and other usual English questions were easy . 4 questions were given in that new model
