Feedback: Is BankClerkPo.Com useful to you or it is a waste of time?
I am receiving some abusive comments these days after publishing IBPS PO Rank list, Expected cutoff marks & some articles on reservation criteria. Some people are saying that i am mind less and the commenter is a brainy. Some people threatening me that they going to report police and shut my website for publishing ranks list. When i reacted to this comment by saying "don't write nonsense", some other guy is supporting him and abusing me and my family status.(I observed that no one is backing me) Also he is suggesting me to start an adult website. After all these things, i am thinking that why should i react to any comment when there is no extra benefit for me. My regular readers know about me and BankClerkPO.Com. If you are also feeling the same, please participate in poll & express your opinion. Also write a comment to tell your opinion. I plan my future agenda based on your comments.
If you feel BankClerkPO.Com is a nonsense, i will stop reacting what ever you say in comments section because you people are so intellectuals, you don't need my help. You people have abused SSC Chief on twitter, so it is not a big deal to abuse me. You are free to say anything you like.

IBPS PO 2012 Allotment Procedure & Reservation Criteria Explained
I am getting several mails and comments on our site regarding the reservation criteria & allotment procedure. I want to clearly explain all the things in this post.
1st you have to know the following things:
UR vacancies means that they are for all the candidates who have got the final score. Whether they have reservation or no reservation, all are come under UR vacancies. But all the candidates are not eligible for UR vacancies even though they are on top of the list. Let me explain..
For UR vacancies, there is separate eligibility criteria., i.e., Age & Written Exam Cutoff marks (Sectional & Total).
Age: Age should not be more than 30 years for UR candidates, but for reserved candidates, they give relaxation. Those who are having age above 30 years are allowed to write the exam under the relaxed norms. So, they are not eligible for UR vacancies.
Written Exam Cutoff Marks: Written cutoff marks are not equal for all. For General, sectional cutoff is 24 marks but for reserved candidates, it is 21 only. A candidate who secured 21 to 23 marks in one or more sections are allowed to attend interviews under relaxed norms. So, these candidates are eligible only for their respective category vacancies but not UR vacancies because they failed to get 24 marks.
After all this process, some reservation candidates will satisfy the UR eligibility criteria but some some candidates are only eligible for their respective category vacancies. Is it clear now?
How the ranks will be decided
If 2 candidates have same marks, Ranks are allotted based on the age & written exam subject wise marks (They set some subjects as important).
Now, let me explain how the allotment will be done based on the preferences and marks.
First they have to fill UR vacancies. As i have already explained above, those who are eligible for UR vacancies will be considered for allotment. 1st ranker will get his 1st preference. If there are no vacancies in his 1st preferences, then his 2nd preference will be considered. Like this they will allot any one bank for merit listed candidates.
Case:1: One guy asked me that, Mr. X 1st preference is Allahabad Bank and Mr. Y who have more marks than X has given Allahabad as 3rd preference. Who will be allotted for Allahabad Bank (Consider that for Mr. Y, there are no vacancies in 1st & 2nd preference)?
Ans. As the allotment is based on merit, Mr. Y will get job in Allahabad even though it is his 3rd preference. If there are any vacancies in Allahabad Bank whenever Mr. X turn comes, then only he will get Allahabad Bank allotment. Topper has to get any one allotment before proceeding to next candidate.
Case:2: In case of reservation candidates, lets say OBC: Mr X, OBC candidate has given Allahabad as his 1st preference, but there are no vacancies in Allahabad Bank in UR category. But Allahabad OBC vacancies are available., then how the allotment will be done?
Ans: In this type of cases, Mr X will get job in Allahabad bank from OBC vacancies.
I have already explained all these things in different posts. Some people are missing some my posts and asking the same things again & again. That's why i have posted all these things in this page.. Ok .. Stop Commenting nonsense. If you still have any doubts, comment below. I will add that issue to this list with answer.

Bank PO Salary & Allowances | Bank Probationary Officer Scale 1 PayScale
Some of you having doubts regarding the salaries and allowances one can get as a Bank PO. I will explain everything in detail.
What is the Bank PO Salary of newly recruited employees?
Ans Bank PO Pay scale is same for all PSU Banks. But it varies when it comes to allowances. Some banks give 15 liters of petrol bill i.e., fixed amount of petrol allowance. Where as some banks provide reimbursement of petrol bills. Below is pay scale of Bank PO.
Bank PO Salary = Basic Pay + DA + CCA + HRA
Scale I - 14500 - (600x7) 18700 - (700x2) - 20100 (800x7) - 25700
Basic Pay: According to this scale, Basic Pay is 14500 for newly recruited PO. After 1 year of service, you are eligible for 1 increment, i.e., Rs. 600. So, your Basic Pay will be Rs. 15100 after one year. Like that you will get increment of Rs. 600 for first 7 years. Next 8th increment will be Rs. 700 for next 2 years. This is the meaning of this pay scale. All your allowances are decided based upon your Basic Pay.
Dearness Allowance (DA): DA is determined based upon the Consumer price index (AICPN). It is revised for every 3 months. Feb, Mar, Apr | May, June, July | Aug, Sep, Oct | Nov, Dec, Jan. These are the quarters in which the DA will be changes according to the consumer price index.
From Feb 2013, DA for bank employees is: 80.25% of basic pay. So, DA for newly recruited PO will be Rs. 11636.25
City Compensation Allowance (CCA): This is for those who are posted in big cities. It 4% for Metro cities and 3% for other cities.
House Rent Allowance (HRA): HRA is also based on your place of posting. If you are working in metro cities HRA is 8.50%, Some other big cities with population more than 5 lakh, it is 7.50% and in other locations it is 6.50% of basic pay. Some banks provide leased accommodation allowance in place of HRA.
Bank PO Allowances/ Perks:
Leased Accommodation Allowance: This facility is available to Bank officers only. The lease amount vary from bank to bank and it is also depends upon place of postings. This can vary from Rs 2500 to over Rs.10,000/-. However, this amount is not available as cash component and it will directly go to the house owner in form cheque.
Medical Aid: Medical Aid allowance is provided annually. For newly recruited employees, it Rs. 5100. It is almost same in all banks.
Petrol Bill: This is variant in various banks. Banks give 15 to 25 liters of petrol. It is depends on bank.
News Paper Allowance: It is given quarterly. You can avail it for every 3 months. It is Rs. 150 to Rs. 200.
Mobile Phone Bill: It is also different from bank to bank. It is from Rs. 200 to Rs. 700 in various banks.
Entertainment Allowance: I have no idea about the amount paid in different banks.
Food & Beverage Allowance: It is Rs. 250 in all PSU banks.
So, this is whole information about the Bank PO salary and Bank PO Allowances. Revision has already become due wef 01/11/2012, but it is likely to take about 2 years to finalise the same.
Below is the chart comprises of all allowances and total salary of Bank PO at present.
Salary | Metro Cities | Cities (More than 5 lakh population | Other Places |
Basic Pay | 14,500 | 14,500 | 14,500 |
DA (80.25%) | 11,636 | 11,636 | 11,636 |
CCA | 540 (4%) | 375 (3%) | 0 |
HRA | 1232.50 (8.5%) | 1087.50 (7.5%) | 942.50 (6.5%) |
Total | 27,908.50 | 27598.50 | 27078.50 |
Adding the allowances to salary will make it around 4.6 lakh per annum. So, Bank PO Job is a well paid job. But you have to work hard and active in working hours. Ok.. Please correct me if iam wrong. thank you..

1. Reasoning: Questions are related to following topics.
Syllogism: There will be 2 or 3 statements followed by 2 conclusions. You have to take the given statements to be true and then decide which of given conclusions logically follows from given statements.
Data Sufficiency: One question followed by 2 statements will be given. You have to decide whether the data provided in the statements are sufficient to answer the question.

If you can prepare the seating arrangement, you can easily answer the question. You have to concentrate more to solve this type of questions.
Greater than, Less than, Equality Relationship: Statements contain the relationship between different elements will be shown. You have to decide whether the Conclusions given follows the relation given in statements

Non Verbal Reasoning: 4 question figures will be given. You have to decide which among the answer figures follows as 5th figure.
To get good marks in SBI PO 2013 Exam, You have to practice more. Reasoning section is toughest section compare to any other section in my point of view because if cant concentrate at that point of time, you will loose marks even though you know the procedure to solve that question. So, sleep well before the exam. This is very important to answer reasoning section. Why i am saying this is, i have seen many candidates traveling at night before the exam day. It may sound silly for some of you, but it is true. You cant solve questions if don't sleep well. Ok..
2. Data Analysis & Interpretation:
To score good marks in this section, you have to be quick in solving mathematical calculations. First, learn mathematical tables from 2 to 20. Many might have forgot the tables after 12 or 13. So, read them first. Know some shortcuts from your seniors. I have posted some tricks in Quantitative Aptitude section.
We can expect all the questions on data analysis. Iam not expecting any quantitative aptitude questions like, time and work type of questions.
Data Analysis & Interpretation mainly contains, Pie Charts, Bar Diagrams, Tables, Graphs, Probability & Data Analysis.
Just practice 30 previous PO exam papers to quickly solve questions of Data Analysis & Interpretation.
3. English Language
Comprehension Passage, Cloze test, Meanings & Opposite Words, Common Errors, Grammatical Errors, Filling the blanks, Rearranging sentences to form meaning paragraph. I am expecting 2 Comprehension passages.
I recommend you to read comprehensions, if you have time at last, because if you are not able to understand in the middle of the passage, your time will be wasted. If you want to answer early, Dont spend too much of time for it. Set some time for it and follow the same. Many canidates spending too much of time to read passages. If you are also like that, it is better to skip it and answer the Meanings and Opposite words questions just by reading the bold sentence. I strongly recommend you to learn the grammer part as much you can. If you are good at grammar, you can answer easily within less amount of time. It is very important in PO exams, that you have to know which things you have to leave. You cant solve all the question 2 hours. So, plan it before the exam. If you are taking too much of time while practicing for some type of questions, try to find ways to solve in less and learn shortcuts from friends. If there is no way to reduce the time to solve that particular type of question, just leave it. OK..
There will be 20 questions from grammar section. If you can answer at least 15, you will be in safe zone. I recommend all of you to write notes. Collect 30 previous PO exam papers, buy a note book and note down the error in particular sentence. Read all the things that you have wrote before the exam day. Revision is very important for English.
Cloze test is also easy part if you read previous papers.
4. General Awareness/Marketing/Computer Knowledge:
This is the easy section in Bank PO Exam. For GK, Read the questions posted on our website and read past 6 months Current Affairs questions i.e., Nov, Dec 2012 & Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr 2013. 70 to 80% of the current affairs questions will be from from Jan, Feb & Mar 2013.
For marketing and computer knowledge, preparing previous papers is enough. Also focus on MS office tools.
5.Descriptive: Descriptive paper contains, Letter Writing, Precise Writing & Questions based on comprehension passage. I will try to post some models. Ok..
Overall, I recommend you to practice Previous 30 Bank PO exam papers for All Sections.
If you have any doubts on how to prepare for SBI PO Exam 2013, feel free to ask me in comments section. All The Best!..

6. What is the IBPS Bank PO 2012 Allotment procedure based on preferences?
Ans. This question was also answered in my previous post. Click Here to view that post.
7. What is the next step after allotment?
Ans. After allotment is done, final joining will be decided by the banks. They will call candidates to join bank whenever they want absorb the candidates. It may take 2 to 6 months varies from bank to bank.
IBPS Bank PO 2012 Allotment Process based on Preferences
- If 1st ranker opted for PNB and he has all the eligibility norms stipulated by PNB, then he will get PNB. If there are no vacancies in PNB or if he is not fit for eligibility criteria of PNB (Like age and Graduation %), his next preference will be considered for selection.
- In case of reserved candidates: If OBC candidate got marks above the General cutoff marks and his 1st preference is also satisfied in general vacancies, he will get allotment from General vacancy. If his preferred bank general vacancies are finished, he will be selected from OBC vacancies of respective bank if there are any. If the OBC vacancies are also finished, then his next preference will be considered.
- Some candidates have the view that luck is need in this selection process. Actually it not correct. Allotment will be made based on merit only. After allotting a bank for 1st ranker only, 2nd ranker will get chance for selection.
- If you are still confused about the allotment process, just leave it to IBPS. You just take care of your preference list according to your needs. They wont cheat you. They are improving the system from time to time. We have to appreciate them for their continuous efforts to provide better way of recruitment process.
Which Banks to Prefer among the Participating Banks in IBPS PO 2012
- Salary: Salary and allowances are more or less same for all participating banks. So, no need to worry about that.
- Posting Location: It is best to choose banks which have more number of branches in your state. For example, In Andhra Pradesh, Andhra Bank have more number branches compare to others. It is the lead bank in many areas. So that your chances of posting in your state will be high.
- Banks Merger: There is a proposal of merging banks. This is also important while giving preferences. I am not sure whether it will be implemented or not. But Chindambaram is serious about this issue and released a circular to all banks about the proposal. Following banks are going to be there after merger as per the proposal.
1. PNB 2. BOI 3. BOB 4. CBI 5. Canara Bank. There is a proposal of merging SBI and BOI also. - PO has to work anywhere in country. There is policy that one has to work out of state for 3 years. It is better to go out of state in the early stage because many of you are bachelors. It is tough to move out of state after getting married.
- These are the things you have to mind while preparing your list of preferences. I cant give any list because it depends from person to person based on the criteria that i have mentioned above.
